My Series: Final

For my final series, I chose to photograph soldiers and knights. In each picture I tried to create scene, as if it were an actual movie. When editing I played with the highlights and the shadows, to set the mood in each individual photo. Hope you enjoy!

My Series: Micro Fantasy (Part 2)

For the second part of my series, I chose to photograph army men, making a short story. My approach this time, was to add more depth, so that the viewer gets a stronger feeling of the space between the characters. When editing I played around with highlights and shadows to help make the pictures stand out.

My Series: Micro Fantasy (Part 1)

For my series, I chose to do micro fantasy using action figures, like soldiers and knights. I wanted to try and create some type of story with each set of photos. For this first set I chose to use knights, and made a small story line to make each picture cohesive with the last. When editing these photos, I adjusted the lighting and added some shadows and highlights to help set the mood and the scene.

Fantasy Narratives

This week we took photos of action figures, and were asked to make them look realistic. I chose to make my photos come alive by blurring some of the figures and adjusting the lighting of the shot. I also use depth to add a sense of motion to the photo.

Portraits

In this assignment we were asked to take portraits of one person in front of a white background. As I photographed my subject I asked her different questions and tried to capture a true expression in either her eyes, or her face as a whole. My idea was to make the photos look as natural and real as possible.

Depth: Repetition

On this assignment we were asked to continue with depth, but add repetition to all of our photos. So I chose to walk around and find some common repetitions and make them noticeable. My approach was to look at everything from a different view point and see what I could find. I think that I was able to come up with a pretty good set. Hope you enjoy!

Depth: Background & Foreground

For this assignment we were asked to photograph different subjects a distance away from one another to create the illusion of depth. I chose to focus more on using the background to create that illusion, instead of both the background and foreground. I used exposure to help the background compliment each subject. I think that this is a pretty good set, so enjoy!
